I just finished reading the awesome book, "Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back" by Todd Burpo. My friend Katie let me borrow it and she warned me that it was a tear jerker. Goodness! It was such an awesome read that I had it finished in two hours. What an emotional and powerful book!
It's about a sweet little four year old boy who gets really sick and during this time he ventures to heaven for three minutes. He sees so much in this short amount of time. My favorite part was when he meets his older sister. His mother had a miscarriage before she became pregnant with this little boy. She lost the baby at two months and they had no idea what the baby's gender was. The little boy met his older sister and she told him how she couldn't wait for her parents to get to heaven. Now that hit close to home! To think that my sweet baby is up there just anticipating our arrival is just the most astounding thing!
I've always had a vision of Heaven from the Bible and this little boy's accurate description of it made me be even more heavenly minded.
Do yourself a favor and check it out. Grab some tissues though!
